The traditional curtain raiser of the Goodwood Revival weekend. This race is widely acknowledged as having the most expensive historic grid in the world, with thirty priceless classics lining up with a combined value approaching £200 million! Taking part in the Kinrara Trophy were Karsten Le Blanc and Christiaen van Lanschot co-owners of the 1960 Austin Healey 3000 Mk1, DD 300. Denis Welch Motorsport has been looking after DD 300 for a number of years and continues to develop the car. Karsten started in 20th position with a mid-point driver change Christiaen finished in a credible 13th overall and first Austin Healey, in a race that was thrilling to the end and rarely lacking drama. Their best lap time was 1:36.694. Freddie March Memorial Trophy Saturday saw Karsten Le Blanc driving his own Austin Healey 100s DHD 100 in the Freddie March Memorial Trophy. This 20 minute race closes the curtain on the days racing, and is a stunning spectacle of sports cars harking back to the era of the Goodwood Nine Hour races of 1952 - 1955. With magnificent examples of Aston Martins, Ferraris, Jaguars and Maserati’s taking to the track, the Austin Healey 100s of Karsten Le Blanc was in very good company starting in 6th and finishing in 12th with a best lap time of 1:36.887. |
